Future trends for students looking to study abroad…

Many students aspire to pursue international education for this one simple reason – it opens doors to global opportunities and a successful career. And this holistic experience gives students an advantage to excel in this highly competitive world.
The Covid-19 pandemic did affect the entire world, but it made international education more accessible to many on the flipside. In the last year, institutions worldwide have adapted to blended education that offers the benefits of both online and on-campus learning. This is an excellent development as these institutions are now more approachable, providing students with increased opportunities to pursue their dreams.
The accessibility to global education has given rise to increased competition in destinations like Canada, UK, and the USA. Since most of the students have not been able to travel in the last year, there will be a surge in demand for international students as and when things get back to normal. It is best advised to stay ahead of your goal so you can contribute towards fulfilling that need rather than preparing for it.
To do that, students must also pay close attention to the emerging careers that are expected to pick up in the near future.

In addition to Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cybersecurity, streams like Environmental Science (especially in renewable energies) are likely to become popular. Also, considering the current load on healthcare infrastructure globally, Biotechnology, Health Informatics, Pharmacy, Equipment Manufacturing, Healthcare Administration will get expanded rapidly in the next few years, resulting in a rise in direct and indirect jobs in that sector. Retrospectively, the hospitality industry will also bounce back as and when the situation resorts to normal.

Undoubtedly there will be more demand for international talent post-pandemic, and it will keep on rising in top destinations like the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand. Because especially for Canada, its economic growth or even economic stability highly depends on the young talent. Thus, in the years to come, this dependability and demand will only increase as new international talent has not been able to travel to Canada because of the pandemic.

And even if I pay attention to other destinations like the USA, its friendlier policies will entice more students applying and enrolling in the universities. With all these welcoming signs from across the globe, it is safe to expect continued growth in the demand for international talent.

Currently, international students are being vaccinated on campus in the US. In fact, according to usafacts.org, 42% of the population have received one dose, and 26% have been fully vaccinated. And in such circumstances, the country’s COVID readiness plan plays a significant role in selecting a destination.

Institutions are doing every bit they can to support students and seem to have things under control. Many institutions are offering airport pickup, self-quarantine facilities, discounts on flight tickets, food, etc. And all this is in addition to the support that students are getting to start their classes online, wherein students have the flexibility to attend either synchronous (live) or asynchronous (recorded) classes as per their individual preferences. Additionally, institutions are all prepped to welcome students on-campus (once the restrictions are lifted) with all safety precautions like personal hygiene, social distancing, sanitization, etc.

Thus, even if everything becomes favorable in the future, I can understand that you may still feel confused about your dream to study abroad. And my advice to you here would be to seek professional guidance if you can’t decide whether to apply in the present times. Schedule a free counseling session with one of the international education experts.

Studying abroad can transform lives and bring the change you want to see in yourself. So, keep pursuing your dreams by channelizing your energies in the right direction!
